July Prayers of
Blessings for the Children -The Blessings
of Proverbs, Part II-· The prayers for
July will be a continuation from June, using topics from
the book of proverbs for blessing the
children. Let us pray for
the children so that they may become
wise, love God's word, and learn to
revere the Lord. Let us pray for our children according to the Word. Pray without
ceasing, even if the children do not yet
understand the meaning of the prayer. Remember that
prayer is a seed that you plant in heaven. Prayer never dies. Your prayers for
your children will be recorded in heaven and saved there for
them. July 1 May our children be upright The Lord detests
the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.
(Proverbs 15:8) Lord, you are the
giver of our breaths. We praise you always and give you our daily supplication.
Help us to become your instrument in working out your will. Help us to be an
obedient family and to pray with upright hearts. You have taught us that the prayers
of the upright please God. Lord, help us to become upright before you, and may
our worship be sincere. Help us to put aside our merely routine religious acts.
You have commanded
us to "pray without ceasing." Grant our children thankful hearts that
they can call on God in prayer through Jesus Christ. Lord, we pray that they
may not become mere cultural Christians who pray because of tradition or duty.
Help them to become true Christians who cry out to God in prayer with upright
hearts. We pray in the
name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Amen. July 2 Grant them peaceful lives When a man's ways
are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him.
(Proverbs 16:7) Thank you for this
new month and for the opportunity to pray for our children. Thank you for
giving them good teachers and good friends at school. Thank you for helping
them to become used to school life. Grant them wisdom in their studies and love
for their friends. Help them to be good friends and to have good friends with
whom they can share the love of God. You have taught us
today that when our ways are pleasing to God, you make even our enemies live at
peace with us. Lord Jesus, you have come to this world to reconcile
relationships. Help our children to grow to be messengers of God's peace to
bring about reconciliation. In doing so, may their lives be pleasing to you,
Lord. We pray in the
name of Jesus, our true peace, Amen. July 3 Grant them your guidance In his heart a man
plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps. (proverbs 16:9) You give life to
the trees and the flowers. You make the pastures green and beautiful. Lord,
give us this kind of life and beauty in our family. Grant our family laughter
and joy. Lord, be with our children wherever they go that they may have the joy
of the Lord. Help them to remember that you are always with them, and remind
them to give thanks to God. Lord, help them to
remember that you are the Lord of all situations, and help them to acknowledge
God as the one who answers their prayers. Lord, help our children to understand
that no matter how meticulously they plan their future, it is all in vain
unless you bless those plans. Although we should work late and get up early,
our work is in vain unless the Lord is with us. Help our children to follow God's
wisdom and guidance in all that they do. Help them to prevail over all things
in the Lord, and may the work of their hands never be in vain. We pray in Jesus'
name, Amen. July 4 Help
them to be good friends In his heart a man
plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps. (Proverbs 17:17) O Lord of
abounding grace, thank you for watching over our lives today. Thank you that we
have a good home in which to rest when the day comes to a close. Thank you for
being with us today, moment by moment, and for providing for all of our needs.
We know that all things come from you, Lord. May your name be uplifted and
glorified in our family. O Lord of
abounding love, help our children to meet friends who are sincere in the faith.
Before they expect others to be good friends, help them to become a good friend
who loves, and encourages others. Help them to be sincere in their love and
friendship, and not self-centered. May they make friends with sincere people. We pray in the
name of Jesus, who is our true friend. Amen.
