November Prayers of Blessings for the Children

-Protection and Thanksgiving-·

We pray for protection in October;

 November is the month of Thanksgiving.

It is filled with thanksgiving and praise.

November prayers will be focus on protection

 for our children and also that

they will learn the meaning

of thanksgiving.

November 1  Guard us along the way

"See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. (Exodus 23:20)

Lord, thank you for this new month of November. November is a month of thanksgiving, because we have a chance to look back on your love, protection, and providence throughout the year. Thank you again for providing for us so abundantly. Please teach our children the true meaning of thanksgiving that comes from their hearts. Guard them from being apathetic toward your grace.

Lord, you tell us through the passage today that you will send an angel ahead of us to guard us along the way. Our children will walk many paths in their lifetimes. Please send your angel to guard them in all these paths. Also, please help them to know which paths to take and protect them from unseen dangers along the way. If they should encounter hardship or an accident, please send someone at that moment to help them and guide them to safety. Help them to overcome the temptations of Satan that lead them to the wide and open road. Guide them to follow the narrow road that leads to the Lord.

We pray in the name of Jesus, who is the Way. Amen.

November 2  Guard us as the apple of your eye

In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded him and cared for him; he guarded him as the apple of his eye (Deuteronomy 32:10)

Lord, thank you for keeping watch over us constantly. We believe in your presence wherever we go. Please watch over our children as the apple of your eye.  May they know your presence even in the deserts and dark valleys of their lives.

Thank you for watching over us without slumbering. We find true rest for our souls, because you send your angels to guard us in all of our ways. We believe that we are safe under your watchful eyes, and we don't fear the sound of the wild animals. Lord, our children will come upon moments of danger, fear, surprise, and distress during the course of their lives. But Lord, be with them, especially during those times, and send your angels to protect them. May our children walk with praise and thanksgiving as they travel throughout their lives.

November 3 Take refuge under God's wings

May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge." (Ruth 2:12)

Lord, you delight to protect us. Thank you for adopting us as your children and giving us refuge under your wings. Although we do our best to protect our children, we confess that we cannot protect them completely through our human efforts; so we thank you for giving them refuge under your wings. Lord, even when they grow up and leave the home, help them to remember to seek refuge under your wings and know that there they will always find your grace.

Lord, the month of November has come upon us so suddenly. Help us to live for you moment by moment. Bless us with your protection and true rest. Help us to share the message of God's protection with our neighbors. Lord, let our hearts overflow with thanksgiving for your protection. Our children learn about many things through the Internet and the pagans of the New Age movement that try to influence them. Please protect them with the word of God so they won't be swept away by such unsound ideas. Lord, protect them under your wings.

November 4  May God be our refuge

But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. (Psalm 5:11)

Lord, you abide where there is hardship. We have true joy in you, because you watch over us, even in small ways, with minute detail. Thank you also for giving us a place of refuge in your vast arms. Lord, train our children to find comfort in your loving arms when they are frightened and tired.

Lord, our children have fire drills to practice where to go for safety when they are at school. Likewise, help them to know where to go for refuge and to seek your protection in the other areas of their lives.
