12월 자녀 축복 기도

December Prayers of Blessings for the Children

 

-The Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit-·

 

December is the last month of the year,

and our prayers will be for the filling

of the Holy Spirit, gifts of the Holy Spirit,

and the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Let us pray that our children may be

 of godly character.

There can be no greater blessing

than the blessing of good character.

When one has achieved good character,

it is not difficult to obey and serve the Lord.

We celebrate the coming of the Christ child

during this month.

Let us remember Jesus and pray that

 we may become more like Him.

 

December 1  Add goodness to your faith

 

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. (2 Peter 1:5-7)

 

O God of abounding love and mercy, thank you for this new month of December. We're glad that it is here, but also a little sad about how fast the year has progressed. Our hearts are heavy because we don't see much of the fruit of our works this year. But help us to spend this last month of the year in a fulfilling way. Help us to prepare our hearts to accept Jesus, who came to us as a baby.

 

Lord, we pray for our children to grow in holiness and in godliness. We ask you to first grant them faith. Faith is a gift from God, so help our children to receive faith and to believe in the things they cannot see. Lord, help them to live by faith in their school life, career life, and family life, so they may establish goodness. Help them to show this goodness in words and actions as they encourage others when they lift up the name of Jesus. Lord, bless them by adding goodness to their faith so they may grow to have mature character.

 

We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

 

December 2  Add knowledge to your goodness

 

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. (2 Peter 1:5-7)

 

God of love, thank you for giving us good health and joy today. We pray once again for our children with earnest hearts. Help our children to be like the tree that was planted by water, so they may bear abundant fruit according to the seasons. Help them to live their lives, bearing abundant fruit, and so they may never be lacking in their character growth, and in their spiritual growth. Lord, help them to bear the best quality fruits so they may offer them up to the Lord.

 

Lord, grant them faith. And add to their faith, goodness, and to their goodness, knowledge: the knowledge of God and the knowledge of salvation. We do not ask for just worldly knowledge, but for that special knowledge that will reflect the image of God through their goodness and godliness. Lord, the Apostle Peter exhorted us to be godly. Please, help our children to grow in godliness. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.


December 3  Add Knowledge to self-control

 

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. (2 Peter 1:5-7)

 

Lord, we give you all the glory. You humbled yourself to be clothed in our humanity, because you knew our helplessness. Thank you for giving life to our children and for watching over them today. Lord, help our children to sustain their health despite the cold weather. Please help them to remain healthy, especially during the change of seasons so they may not suffer from colds or flu.

 

Lord, bless our children to add self-control to their knowledge of God. Without self-control, knowledge makes us look proud, and we are unable to uphold your goodness. Keep us from becoming conceited with our knowledge of God and his salvation. Help us to practice self-control so we may receive praise and respect. Lord, give us the self-control to give others the first opportunity. Protect our children from turning to the right or to the left.

 

We pray in the name of Jesus, who helps us to be self-controlled. Amen.

 

 

December 4  Add perseverance to self-control

 

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. (2 Peter 1:5-7)

 

O God of love, thank you for giving us courage today. Lord, be the strength of our children as they study diligently their schoolwork. Help them to render glory to you whether they are studying or playing. Lord, bless them to graciously receive help from others.

 

Lord, you have given us faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control. Now we ask you to add to self-control, perseverance. Help our children to persevere, especially when they are going through difficulties and hardship. Help them to remember the words of your promises and to have hope in their times of trouble. Lord, you teach us in the Bible that love perseveres. Grant our children perseverance so they may grow in godliness. Lord, help them to learn perseverance through our family. Give them perseverance to be able to face abundance as well as scarcity. Lord, grant them the Holy Spirit to persevere in the Lord.

 

We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
