Parents' Prayers For January
January
9 May they praise the Lord
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing
praise to the name of the LORD Most High. (Psalm 7:17)
Lord, how right it is to give you praise! We give you praise and
thanksgiving. Because of you we lack nothing. Thank you for our daily bread and
for delivering us from evil. Thank you for protecting us from temptations and
watching over our welfare. We confess that you are the Lord of our family. Help
us so that praising you may be the central theme of our daily lives.
O Lord, we thank you for your righteousness. You are forever righteous and
just. Thank you for cleansing our sins with your own righteousness. May our
children forever praise you and thank you. May you deepen their sense of
thanksgiving, and may they worship you with their praises.
We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
January 10 Raise them to be stewards.
You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under
his feet. (Psalm 8:6)
You are the King of Kings. Thank you that there is victory in you today.
Despite the trials in this world, we believe that you are our King and you
watch over us. Though our enemies come against us, we believe that your grace
is sufficient for our victory. May our children trust in Jehovah Nissi, so they
may always be victorious. May they believe that you are our King and our
keeper.
Lord, we praise your name. Help our children to rule over and subdue the
works of your creation, according to your will for mankind. Help them to be
stewards of the land animals, the fish of the sea, and the birds of the air.
Help our children to know the glory and the holiness of God who created all
these things. Lord, protect them from being enslaved by anything, but instead,
help them to be God's stewards over all his creation.
We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
January 11 Keep them on your holy mountain
LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?
(Psalm 15:1)
O Lord, thank you for the weather today and for giving us our daily bread.
Thank you that the eternal joy and gladness of the Lord's holy mountain can be
experienced even in this world. Help us to share this joy with our neighbors by
blessing them with the Gospel message.
Thank you for loving these children and keeping them on your holy mountain.
Guide them so their actions may always be truthful, their hearts may be
sincere, and they may dwell on your holy mountain with gladness. Give them the
desire to dwell in your sanctuary. Help them to experience joy, gladness,
peace, comfort, happiness, and rest on your holy mountain. May they know their
greatest blessing to be abiding in the Lord.
We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
January 12 Give them love for their neighbors
....and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and
casts no slur on his fellowman, (Psalm 15:3)
O God of love, thank you that we can be in fellowship with you today,
knowing that you watch over us. Thank you for your grace that this day comes
with sufficient provisions from the Lord. Guide our family to know that all
these blessings are from you, and may our gratitude and praise be always
overflowing.
God of love, may our children increasingly resemble your image. May they
live as people of God and be the example of Jesus for their neighbors. When
they speak, make their tongues full of reverence so that only the love and the
meekness of the Lord may flow out. Help them to overcome evil with good. May
they reveal the goodness and the truth of the Lord in their lives.
We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
