Parents' Prayers For January
January 13 Keep us from willful sins Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then
will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression. (Psalm 19:13) Holy Lord, thank you for providing for all of our needs today. Thank you
for guarding us against sin through your holy presence. Lord, there are times
when we sin against you knowingly and sometimes unknowingly. We know that our
children sin against you many times and their faults are hidden. Please,
forgive them for sinning against you and be their refuge. Lord, you are our righteousness. Help us to discern what is evil and what
is good. Lord, protect our children from willful sins. Protect them from the
heaviness of heart that comes from sinning against you. Help them to live
before God sincerely and truthfully. Protect them from the influence of sinners
and cleanse their sinful hearts so they may be pure. Keep them from the seat of
the wicked so they may not be swept away with sinners. We pray in the name of Jesus, who is our rock. Amen. January 14 Remember the Lord in
times of distress May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God
of Jacob protect you. (Psalm 20:1) O Lord, we praise your name. Thank you for being with us today in all of
our ways. Thank you for helping our children to understand their lessons at
school. Thank you for giving them good friends and for teaching them to share.
Lord, help our children to pray for their friends. Lord, you are our help at all times. Guide our children to seek your help,
especially when they are in distress. Help them to remember the Lord their God,
who always answers their cries for help. Help them to know that when they are
in distress, you are their only fortress and refuge. Lord, be the strength of
our children. We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen. January 15 Be our shepherd The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.(Psalm 23:1) Dear Lord, thank you for being our shepherd and for giving us everything we
need for today. You comfort us when we are lonely and lead us to green pastures
to rest. Lord, no one in this world can take care of us like you. Thank you for
watching over us without slumber and for guiding us to the water of life. Dear Lord, we ask you to be our children's shepherd so they may not lack
anything in you. Please, be their strength when they are in distress and things
aren't going well for them. Lord, Give them the blessings of your presence so
they may never be in want. Give them faith that you are with them even when
they walk through the valley of the shadow of death. Give them faith that you
provide for all of their needs. Lord, help our children to follow their true shepherd in obedience. We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen. January 16 Teach us your way Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; (Psalm 25:4) Lord, you are our eternal teacher. Thank you for leading us to follow your
way. Although we learn many things at school, your wisdom is eternal. Thank you
for choosing our family to walk in your ways. Help our children to be steadfast
in their walk with the Lord even from an very young age. Help us to teach our
children the ways of the Lord. Lord, please train our children to see your ways and learn your paths.
There are many ways in the world that beckon our children, but help them to
discern and choose only the ways of the Lord. You lead those who are meek and gentle, and you teach them your ways. Lead our children also in the ways of
your truth, and may the word of God be a lamp unto their feet. Lord, only your
ways are righteous and good. Only your ways lead to victory. They are like building a house on solid rock. Help them to find and enter through the narrow
gate.
We pray in the name of Jesus, who guides us in the ways of eternal. Amen.
