Parents' Prayers For November
November 13 Deliver
us from hopeless circumstances When you pass
through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be
burned; the flames will
not set you ablaze. (Isaiah 43:2) Lord, you are
always with us; we have the joy of the Lord because you are our shepherd, and
we are not in want. Your rod and your staff comfort us when we are in desperate
and hopeless situations that seem like we have entered the valley of the shadow
of death. Lord, although we try our best to protect our children, we have human
limitations. We can't predict when our children will experience moments of
desperation or hopelessness. Please watch over them through these times. Lord, protect them
from feelings of desperation if their cars happen to break down in the middle
of a dark road. Please keep them from situations where a violent person might
harm them. Protect them from strangers who plan to kidnap them. Protect them
from life threatening fires. Protect them from thieves who come in the night
and terrify families. Protect them from wild animals. Protect them from
receiving tainted AIDS blood if they should ever need a blood transfusion. We pray in Jesus'
name, Amen. November 14 Keep us from denying our Lord He began to call
down curses on himself, and he swore to them, "I don't know this man
you're talking about." (Mark 14:71) Lord, thank you
for the winter season when all things come to rest and wait for the time of new
life. Please grant us abundance so our harvest will last throughout the winter.
Lord, sustain our health during the cold season. Help our children to study diligently,
although they are waiting for the winter break. Lord, you have
called us to deny ourselves, take up the cross, and follow you. But Lord, there
are times when instead of denying ourselves, we deny you. Even Peter, who loved
Jesus, denied him three times in his moment of weakness. It was such a painful and
regretful mistake. We know that this doesn't just happen with Peter. We also
have denied you and pretended to not know you in the various situations of our
lives. Lord, please guard us from denying you, and guide us to walk in the ways
you have called us to go. Lord, give us discernment so we may overcome the
powers of darkness that prompt us to deny you in ways that we do not even
notice. Lord, although we
are helpless sinners, we pray, trusting in the name of Jesus. Amen. November 15 Guard
us from the temptation for money Now a man named
Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. With
his wife's full knowledge, he kept back part of the money for himself, but
brought the rest and put it at the apostles' feet. (Acts 5:1-2) Lord, you are the
owner of all things. Thank you for providing for all of our needs through the
abundance of nature. Lord, bless everyone on earth that they may have abundant
food to eat. Sometimes we seek food not out of need, but out of greed. We also
seek money out of greed; because we think that if we have lots of money, we can
do anything while continuing to live an extravagant and comfortable life. Lord,
we need material things for life, but help us to never be ruled by them. Give
us spiritual authority to be good stewards and never become slaves to riches. We know that the
love of money is the root of all evil. We learned today that Ananias and
Sapphira hid their riches and tried to deceive the Holy Spirit. Lord, protect
our children from the greed for money by helping them to realize what is truly
important. Guard them from selling out their faith for riches or from deceiving
the Holy Spirit. Lord, grant them the spiritual authority to properly take
charge of their money so it may be used in furthering the work of God. We pray
in the name of our Savior, Jesus. Amen. November 16 Guard them from being slandered
