Parents' Prayers For March
March 17 Help them to learn from John the
Baptist You yourselves can testify that I said, 'I am not
the Christ but am sent ahead of him.' The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The
friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy
when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.
He must become greater; I must become less. (John 3:28-30) We give you thanks, O Lord, for you give us only
the best. We praise you, because you know what we need even before we ask. You
provide everything for us so abundantly. Thank you that we can live with such
abundant blessings. Help us to share these blessings with others. Help our children to learn from John the Baptist,
whom you dearly loved. He prepared the road for the Lord and lived a holy life.
He also taught us the great spiritual truth that we must become smaller, and
Jesus must become greater in our lives. Help us to have the kind of faith that
magnifies the Lord and not ourselves. Help us to have the kind of faith that
seeks to glorify God before others even if we must suffer loss. Help us to
repent and get rid of trying to magnify ourselves, but to be more like John the
Baptist who boldly magnified the Lord Jesus. Help our children to be a voice
that calls out in the wilderness to prepare the way for the Lord. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen. March 18 Help
them to learn from Zacchaeus But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord,
"Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and
if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the
amount." (Luke 19:8) Lord, we thank you that you have come to seek the
lost and the helpless. You befriend those who are despised and shunned. Help us
to also to befriend those who are despised and shunned. We pray that our children may meet Jesus, just as
Zacchaeus did. Help them to actively seek the Lord in their hearts. Help them
to repent and bear the fruit of repentance like Zacchaeus. As you loved and
accepted Zacchaeus, may our children experience that same love, so they also
may turn from their wrongful ways and have a chance to repent. Help them to
personally experience the Lord Jesus who restored Zacchaeus as a descendant of
Abraham. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen. March 19 Help
them to learn from Stephen While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed,
"Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." Then he fell on his knees and cried
out, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." When he had said
this, he fell asleep.(Acts 7:59-60) Dear Lord, we want to learn from Stephen, who was
faithful to the end. We want to learn of his love for and utter devotion to
Jesus. We want to experience the true joy and peace which Stephen had. He was
one of the seven deacons who was filled with the Holy Spirit. He was a faithful witness of the Gospel of Jesus
Christ to the end, even when it required his own life. Help our children to
learn about his love, service, and devotion to the Lord. Help our children to
likewise have Stephen's faith and be precious tool that are used by God. Also,
help them to meet friends who have these same traits so they may encourage one
another. We pray in the name of Jesus, who is the source of
all life. Amen. March 20 Help
them to learn from Bartimaeus, the blind beggar "What do you want me to do for you?"
Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see."
"Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you." Immediately
he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. (Mark 10:51,52) You came as the true Light, O Lord. Thank you for
giving us sight. Help us also to become a light to shine in this world. Thank
you for each moment that you guide us. We thank you even for the things that we
do not understand. We believe that you plan all things to work for our good. Please
help our children at school so they may not experience fatigue while they are
studying. Today, we ask that our children may learn from
blind Bartimaeus. You said that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be
saved. Bartimaeus cried out to you, and he was healed from his blindness. He
also followed Jesus as a disciple. Although he had previously lived at the
mercy of others, then he became a different person who can help others. Help
our children to learn from Bartimaeus, who cried out to Jesus and whose life
was changed. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
